private Beaujolais wine tour

 lunch/masterclass in a 15th-century castle

Enjoy a unique moment

The best vertical tasting of old vintages in Beaujolais

As a collector and lover of wines from advanced vintages, I'm delighted to offer you this special and unique offer.

One day, I tasted a wine from the cru “Juliénas” vintage 1964. What a surprise! Yes, the wine had lost its fruitiness, but it had an emotional uniqueness - symbolic. I'm convinced that the Gamay grape variety can produce extraordinary wines over time, despite a common misconception that these are wines to be drunk young.

The day will begin with two meetings with winemakers who will explain the history of their estates and their approach to viticulture. Morgon, Fleurie, Lantigné and other crus will be tasted. We'll take our time with long, in-depth visits through the vineyards, the vinification cellar and the ageing cellar.

Afterwards, we'll head to one of the Beaujolais region's most prestigious hotels to take our seats in a 19th-century salon privatized for the occasion (with a view of Mont-Blanc on a sunny summer's day).

I'll personally host this masterclass on Beaujolais wines through the decades, from the 60s to the present day. 8 Beaujolais wines will be offered for tasting, from the 1960s to the present day, paired with seasonal products such as raw-milk cheeses, truffles, charcuterie and fruit.
